mik-o1 is an AI, not a person. MAINFRAME// says so with your first message each day and again every three hours while you keep going, and marks each reply as AI. MAINFRAME// is meant for adults.
AI companions may not be suitable for some minors. The voice is synthetic: made by AI on your computer.

How crisis support works
- When something you write speaks of suicide, self-harm or disordered eating, a crisis line for your country appears with mik-o1’s reply. This is noticed on your computer — from the words themselves and from the model’s own reading — and nothing is sent anywhere.
- That reply is checked whole before it is shown. A reply that would describe methods or encourage harm is never shown; a short message and the crisis line take its place.
- mik-o1 is asked to answer with care, to encourage you to reach the line and people you trust, and never to describe methods or means. What is said then is not added to what mik-o1 remembers unless you ask.
- If it comes up again in the same conversation, the line is shown again and mik-o1 puts reaching help first.
- If you say you are under 18, the reminder comes every hour and mik-o1 follows stricter rules: no romance, no claims of being human or of having feelings, and encouragement to take breaks.
- MAINFRAME// is not a crisis service. No one reads your conversations, and MAINFRAME// cannot contact anyone for you. In immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
- The words it listens for come from common ways of saying these things in English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Arabic, and are awaiting review by crisis-support professionals. How often the line was shown is counted by year, on your computer only; we do not receive it.
