Who we are
MAINFRAME// and its optional account service at accounts.etern-kv.net are made by etern.kv, an independent developer in the United States. Questions, requests and complaints: support@etern-kv.net.
The app keeps your life on your computer
Your conversations, what mik-o1 remembers, the Archive and your settings are stored on your computer, in what the app calls the Core. We never receive them. The app has no analytics: the figures it shows about itself are measured and kept on your computer, and so is the yearly count of how often a crisis line was shown.
What leaves your computer, and only for these reasons:
- Updates. Unless you turn it off (Settings › About), the app asks our release host on GitHub whether a newer version exists. It sends the app’s version and your type of system; GitHub sees your IP address, as with any download.
- Downloads you ask for. The voices, the language pack, speech recognition, the built-in models and ReMe come from GitHub, Hugging Face and the Python Package Index, which see your IP address.
- AI providers you connect. What you write to mik-o1, and the context needed to answer, goes to the provider you chose (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, or a server you run), under that provider’s terms and privacy policy. The built-in model runs on your computer and sends nothing.
- The web, when you allow it. Searches and pages that mik-o1’s web tool opens.
- Your account, if you sign in — below.
The account (optional)
You can use MAINFRAME// fully without an account. If you sign in (Settings › Account), the account service keeps:
- an account id; the name and email address that your sign-in provider (Google, Discord or GitHub) shares with us; which providers you use; when the account was made;
- your marks: a First Thousand number, and the number of any Founder’s Edition with Paddle’s transaction id;
- the name you choose for the Founders’ Register, and whether it is shown;
- your sign-in sessions (a token and when it expires), and for a few minutes the code that connects the app.
We do not keep the access tokens your sign-in provider issues, and we do not store your IP address or browser details with your account; Cloudflare, which runs the service, processes them to deliver it. Nothing from your Core is ever sent to the account service.
We use this to run your account, show your marks and the Founder’s Edition in the app, and list your name in the Founders’ Register — only if you choose to show it. The legal bases (where the GDPR applies) are the contract with you for the account and the Edition, your consent for a public Register name (withdraw it at any time by hiding the name), and our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe from abuse.
Buying the Founder’s Edition
Paddle.com is the merchant of record: Paddle sells the Founder’s Edition, takes the payment and handles tax, invoices and refunds, under Paddle’s privacy notice. We receive the transaction’s id and, if you are signed in, which account it belongs to. We do not receive your card details or billing address.
Who else processes it
- Cloudflare — hosting and the database of the account service;
- Google, Discord or GitHub — only the one you sign in with;
- Paddle — the purchase, as merchant of record.
We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use advertising or analytics cookies. The service runs on Cloudflare’s global network, so your information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.
How long it is kept
Your account is kept until you delete it — in the app (Settings › Account › Delete the account) or at accounts.etern-kv.net/account. Deleting it erases the account, its sign-ins, name, email address, sessions and Register entry at once. The number and Paddle transaction id of a purchase are kept without your account, so that numbers are never given to anyone else and refunds and tax records can be honoured. App connection codes expire within 15 minutes.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to receive it in a portable form, or to stop using it for a purpose you object to; write to support@etern-kv.net and we will answer within 30 days. Where the GDPR or a similar law applies, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Adults only
MAINFRAME// and its accounts are for adults (18 and over). If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.
Cookies
The account pages set one cookie to keep you signed in, and short-lived ones while you sign in. The Founder’s Edition page loads Paddle’s checkout, which sets its own cookies.
Changes
If this page changes, the date below changes; a change that matters is also said in the app.
